#46 One year with Teddy
My beautiful cavapoo Teddy is 1 year old today! I thought it was the perfect opportunity to reflect on my experience since she sprung into my life. I decided on a poem to keep things fresh just because I felt like it.
One Year with Teddy
As my Teddy is now one year old
I consider how has it all gone
Has this small furry nutter on steroids
Changed my life now we are twelve months on?
She is always excited to see me
Each morning she greets me with glee
Being covered in warm sticky licks
Is the best way “good morning” could be
The cushions no longer have zips
The plants are all moved out of reach
The tinkle stains fade on the carpet
Because rules are a challenge to teach!
Her fur is so soft, warm and fluffy
I miss her when we are apart
Snuggling with her in her blanket
Her cuddles bring joy to my heart
My shoe laces are all chewed up
And my PJs have mostly been shredded
She’s a bit of a four-legged diva
(But not quite as much as I dreaded)
Thanks to her I spend more time in nature
With adventures in wind, rain and sun
She is inquisitive, playful and bouncy
Sometimes pesky but always big fun
Teddy’s the queen of our garden
Other creatures now take a back seat
Run ragged by daily pup chases
The squirrels and hedgehogs retreat
She follows me round like a shadow
I am never too far from her sight
I laugh every day at her antics
And don’t like when we’re parted at night
A year ago I didn’t know Teddy
I pondered the perks of a pet
But now I can’t be without her
I don’t have one single regret
